Revised call sheets

As our shooting has been postponed to a later date, we have produced a new call sheet for our actors:

Ident

This is the first thing that will appear on our project as it represents the production company that created our film.

Filming

We have been experiencing many problems with finding time to film our project at a time which is most beneficial to everybody involved and problems with the camera itself. Because of this the earliest we have been able to shoot is tomorrow. Hopefully we wont encounter any problems tomorrow.

Location scouting

During todays lesson we have been looking around school for a good location to film our final project. We found a room (B6a) which is small enough to be used as a students flat, and it already has 2 sofas, a tv and a big poster inside. We thought this was the perfect place to use. We have asked if we can move some props from the common room such as a table and maybe another sofa to make the room even more believable. On Thursday we are going to film and see how it is going to turn out.

At first we thought the common room would be a good place to film
Then we found this room (B6a) and thought it was ideal for our location

First meeting

On Thursday ourselves and the actors have arranged to meet after school to film the house party scene. I think this is going to be difficult to pull off as we are filming in school, and we wont be able to bring any props in such as alcohol and other typical house party props. However we are going to do our best with what we have and if we cant make it look realistic, we can rearrange another time to try and film a more believable house party scene.

The Script

Following is the script that Hannah wrote, I will create a storyboard once the script is more detailed and describes each scene thoroughly.

The opening scene of our opening movie sequence will start off with the title of the movie. However this we have not yet decided and we will need to sit down at a later point after filming our clip and decide this with one another based on the footage that we have shot. As the film is based on teen movies and we have done an extensive amount of research on opening sequences and teen movies themselves. We have all done our own individual research over the Christmas holidays and this has contributed to each of our research making us all have the best chance for getting the best marks for our research part of the coursework. Thought the lesson today myself and callum wrote down all of the things which we need to do to complete our allocated tasks on time. Between us in the lesson we produced a call sheet and a rough plan of action of all of the things we needed to do. We then allocated certain tasks to individual people in our group so that the work load would be equal and we had a better chance of completing all of our tasks on time.

As our script is about teenagers and their lifestyles at university we will have to show all aspects of their lifestyles. for example we need to give people an insight into the lives of the youth of today but not perceive it or show it in a negative way. We need to show the viewers of our clips that not all teenagers are alcohol sex craving youngsters and that some have a sensible head on their shoulders. As young people of our generation (90's) have such a bad reputation with the press and other media aspects we thought that it would be a good idea if we projected and showed the good qualities of youngsters as well as their party loving life styles. This way people will get an insight into our lives rather than just believing things that we are perceived to be in the media.

The script
The scene will take place in a small room. this will be the room that all of the people living in flat B6a use as their living room. The basic line of the story goes that one of the characters Russell decides to invite a few girls back to the apartment for a drink. However when the girls realise that he takes drugs and this may rub off negatively on them they decide to leave the party, until a few of their other friends from university show up. As Miranda and Kadance enter the room with their male friends and a few others Russell decides not to take the drugs and puts them to one side so that he can just enjoy a normal night of casual drinking with his friends. However as the people that just entered the flat with Miranda and Kadence did not know that they were drugs of a higher class they decided to drop a few into one of the girls drinks to try and get her to sleep as she was being such a pain. However they did not realise that this may cause potential problems. As the night goes on events happen and we want to capture the good and bad things that these Teens will do. We want to show their wild side but also their sensible and sensitive sides. So we are planning to film them being wild then sensible. The story line will include no dialogue as of such and positioning of characters will be decided on the day so that the 'party scene' looks authentic and real. But none the less we will still use all of the necessary camera shots and editing skills to achieve the highest possible grade we are capable of.

to capture each individual characters emotions and feelings at the certain highs and lows of the party we have decided to freeze frame and edit the shot to introduce each individual character to the viewers. We believe that this will be a positive way of showing everyone the good and bad signs to the youths of today. we got most of our ideas and inspiration from the things we looked at in our research. For example skins, misfits, this is England 86, kidulthood and adult hood. but the main inspiration came from a clip what we were given to analyse for our other media task. the clip was from hollyoaks later a few years ago and details and shows everything we are aiming to achieve but from a different angle . so we are using this as a guide to produce our work for this task.

Call Sheets

This is the call sheet for all actors, it tells you the name, contact number, meeting place and meeting time. It also shows a picture of each actor for added detail.

This is the call sheet which will be attached to the individual call sheet, it gives an overview of the time and place of the production.
This is an example of an individual call sheet, it tells the actor about their character and what requirements they will have to perform to.

Research - The Hangover

The Hangover

At the beginning of The Hangover, there is a conversation between two people about something that has happened and gone wrong. This gives the viewer almost a sample of what is going to happen. We then see credits and a series of shots around Las Vegas which set the scene. Once the credits have finished, a scene begins which is said to be “two days earlier”. From here the story then carries on until the beginning scene is repeated later in the film. At this point the repeated scene makes sense to the viewer. I thought this was a very good way to start the film as instead of the story starting in chronological order, a small clue was given as to what would happen which can make the viewer imagine different scenarios.

At various parts of the film, usually after something funny or unusual has been said, it is followed by a song. For example:

I thought this was a very good way to add attitude to the scenes and it also made it easier to change from one scene to another. This might be a good idea for our production as we aren’t as good at editing as we’d like to be, so this idea may help our production to run smoothly.

At the end of the film, a camera is found with pictures of the previous night. The main characters look at the pictures. We then go to the end credits where the pictures are shown. I thought this was a good way to end the film as it doesn’t just end suddenly.
